Akaroa 75% polwarth, 25% possum
Natural polwarth mixed with NZ possum fibres (brushtail possum). Possum gives a warm fabric with a halo (much warmer than pure wool). Fabrics containing possum fibre are less inclined to pill. Akaroa in the Dark has got dyed black possum fibre so it's a charcoal grey yarn that has been overdyed. The result is dark moody colourways. This yarn is woollen spun, it’s very light and blooms when being blocked (gauge is heavy DK/worsted). Works well for stranded and fair isle knitting. Suitable for garments, hats, scarves, mittens and big, cosy shawls. This yarn is not superwash treated.
